Tiffani Shadell Lankford, a 32-year-old teacher with an alleged violent past, was charged with a second-degree felony of aggravated assault after she allegedly assaulted a 15-year-old female student in a classroom. It happened in a Spanish language class at Lehman High School in Kyle, Texas.
The Hays County Sheriff’s Office said Lankford was arrested after several videos that showed the attack were presented to deputies. Lankford was transported to the Hays County Jail and is currently awaiting trial while out on bond. Hays CISD said Lankford was fired as a substitute teacher after the assault and the incident was reported to the Texas Education Agency.
“I was shocked and disgusted after seeing this teacher’s brutal attack on this young girl. We expect our teachers to keep our children safe, not physically attack them like a cage fighter. There is no excuse for this type of behavior. We are cooperating with Hays County District Attorney to ensure justice for the family and hope no student has to ever endure an attack like that again.”
